Life is a puzzle

Life is a puzzle with innumerable hassles

Mortals are dim-witted puppets in life’s castle

It pulls a string and watches the play

Agony may follow merry and gay,

It switches the temper at his will,

There are times when everyone turns still,

It laughs at them for their impuissance

For they have forgotten their essence,

Life’s testament is the ultimate law,

Mortals’ will is just a flaw,

Bare creatures we are, in the hands of life,

Life for us is still full of strife

Hope someday, our soul will wake

It has the power to judder and break

Life will be no more a riddle

No human then ever fiddle,

The path of glory will be sought

The enigma of life will end along with the rut.
