Death – the greatest fiction

Subtle footsteps of a cold and insensate guest,
I heard it in my chest
Like a rustling noise of dry leaves in autumn
Treading whispers murmured in my auricles like a phantom

My heart shivered like a trembling leaf
I sensed no more, but unstated grief
Alas, time has ripened to leave flesh
But longing for earthly desires were still fresh

Memories fled through mind at lightning speed
I was just a witness to all my bounteous and boisterous deed
Life for me has come to a standstill,
Death was standing beside me, expressing its will

Alas, the final moments have arrived,
Death will part me from my friends and kin, so I cried
Foolish I was, madly obsessed for worldly pleasure,
Never sought for my inner treasure

I tittered and convulsed on my pity-state,
Never thought this would be my fate,
I repented for the whims and fancies of my past,
But the mystery of death followed me till last

All of a sudden, I had an abrupt revelation,
I stood witness to my body kept for incineration
Some were mewling and others screaming on my demise,
For me this divine revelation was the ultimate surprise

Now I am just a witness to all this existence
I know that Life is the ultimate truth and the essence,
Death is nothing but a mere fiction,
But lesser mortals are worldly minded and have addiction

This moment I am rejoicing ecstatically with this universe,
I am present here and now in this verse
I wish all who reads this verse may feel my presence
May the divine bless all to see their essence!

My Lost friend and the Angel

Down my memory lane,

I could hear the whispers of my heart's silent pain.

The agony of losing a sincere friend,

Even the words fail to explicate, how painful it really meant!

Seasons passed like a gentle breeze,

But my heart is still filled with grief

The days with delightful moments have become the memories of past,

Those instants still hover in my mind but I wish them to cast.

Alas! I lost her in my wrath, evoked out of stress and strain

My whims and fancies are the only reasons for my pain.

She parted like a water droplet fallen from Taro leaves,

I just stood there as a witness to my boisterous deeds.

I am still sitting on my couch besides the window,

Watching the sun fall below the horizon, deep into the sea

The night is dawning and the birds are flying,

But I am still alone sitting with my memoirs and crying.

An angel appeared during this melancholic affair,

She wants to be with me till I become strong and fair

I wonder, if God has bestowed me with a boon in lieu of a lost comrade,

I wish to hold this angel now in my heart forever, lest she should fade.

Child of Destiny

My impuissance always haunted me like a nightmare,

I always stood alone even in a busy fair

My thoughts ghosted me like a vulture looking for its prey,

Even my spirit was bemused when indulged with life in a woozy fray

Life always seemed to be a tyranny,

With happiness peeping in my life occasionally, as an irony

Winds of lust and anger swayed my thoughts to everywhere,

I neglected my friends and kin and even forgot my prayer

The path of desperate desires where pleasing my eyes,

I buried the essence of my soul for a life full of spice

Then came the irruption of thoughts out from the convoluted mind,

Those were nothing but the poisons hived in handsome rind

I left my kingdom of desires, as I lost my assailable world of fantasy,

Colours of joy withered and life turned out to be a bitter legacy

Soon my spirit languished and then grief followed felicity,

And life’s lancinating experiences even bewildered me without pity

In this whole turmoil my love was lost and my whole world went in a toss,

Valley of distress was now my abode, I sought the shrouded and obscured cause

Sooner I agnised, my thoughts were no more my allies,

That sole thought made my stout frame paralyse

My spirit was now longing to live a life of solitude,

A life of hermit, so I could stand from my vicious thoughts at an altitude

Meditation and contemplation became the wings of my spirit,

My thoughts sublimated and mind stood there as an obedient valet

I am now the master and he is my dutiful servant,

I subdued him with my spiritual power though he was egotist and arrogant

Days have passed when I was a mere puppet in the hands of life,

Now I choose the course of life frivolously without any strife

Life has now bestowed me with all the blessings,

I could see today the compassion of all beings

Life is only meant for love and sharing,

This is the only testament that could free the spirit from wearing

At this moment I am overwhelmed with joy and ecstasy,

The umpteen invaluable benedictions, cosmos showering, I could see

Inner realm of my heart is rejoicing with blissful delight,

I am no more in fright with life, though I am still a child of destiny.

Life and truth

Life’s hassles are puzzles for the mortals,

Each comes in a platter of chance

One has to be an astute gambler,

for opportunity ripe to success only for them

Men and women of high stature,

Never leave a chance of adventure

They lead life like a game of poker,

and they always exhibit themselves to be a joker

Everyone in life seek Love, success, wealth and fame,

Few only are fortunate to lead this game

Rest of the mob squirms like a worm,

Blindly walking along with a swarm

There are men, who choose the obscured path,

For them life is a journey of endless swath

They are aloof to their friends and fellow-men,

For them the virtue of their goal is like a Ben

Endless journeys and tiring routes,

Yet few only find life’s eternal truths

Blessed are those who lead peaceful, contended life,

For them life is full of bliss without strife

Life always intrigue the wise,

For them the earthly pleasures are no nice

They don’t seek the truth at a mart,

For they know the priceless jewel is within their heart

These thoughts make my mind reposeful and sanctified,

I regret no more with life for being tried

I know for sure, now or later it will open the ultimate gate,

For me that moment will be the most cherished fate.

Confession of a seeker

Saint, I proclaimed myself!

Until I saw her on that moonlit night,

My celibacy withered with the very thought of her sight,

The spirits were swinging like a swaying tree, out of gust,

Soon my emotions were poisoned by the lust.

Moon and Stars were witness to my state,

I wished that dame to be my Soul-mate,

My heart was no more in my bate,

I was losing it to her, without any debate.

The momentary pleasures appeared to be eternal delights

With the very touch of her hands, my emotions rose to heights

But my dreams shattered, when I lost her to another man,

She was no more there to be my fan

I wished to cognise the reason for my strife

Before I touch the dusk of life

I had boasted to be a paragon and had always agonised

The past were my fooleries then I realised

Now the time is too short to fight and quarrel,

This is the lesson of life and the ultimate moral.

Moments will fly away like a feather in a breeze,

And the time we forgo will cease

I retreated back to my old path,

Where I wished to search for my soul’s bath,

When I pondered over the thoughts of my past,

I discovered the obscure path, lying untravelled long and vast

I vowed to remain in this resplendent path,

To seek higher self and to forget the wrath,

Indeed, I have forgiven myself for the past,

My journey for the life with new resolution initiated at last.

Alone I was when I came in this world,

Alone I will be when I leave this world,

No friends and foes will come with me

Neither my kinsmen will ever accompany

Lone crusader I am, I have to move alone,

Seek the glorious path to unravel the unknown

I bow before the divine to strengthen my spine,

For the path is constricted and elusive, but I will not resign.

What is love?

Love is a season without a reason

It changes your humour without a lesson

Love is like a fragrance which spread from incenses

It mesmerizes the soul and the senses

Love is an emotion filled with potion

It heals and nurtures the man in commotion

Love is compassion which comes with a passion

It diffuses in the environs in its own fashion

Love is mightier than the mightiest power

It fills the heart with courage, of a lover

Love is a fusion of subtle forces

But it can defeat an army even with roses

Love is the essence of this universe

It makes every lover a poet and itself a verse

Love is the utmost moral of humanity

It teaches you every moment to live in verity

Love is a guide with glorious vision

It always leads you to a higher mission

Love knows only to share and spare

This emotion never knows how to scare

Love is a tempest which take away the ripest,

Muppets left can only pretend themselves to be the brightest.

Love is the testament for the presence of God

It fills every creature with the essence of Lord

Love is the beginning and the end of creation

It is the final point of culmination.
